| Always adorable……. but a problem for us at Phoenix |
 Our priority must be finding new homes for the lost, abandoned and unwanted: animals that would otherwise be put down. There are already too many of these for us to handle, but we are still asked to re-home litters of unwanted puppies that could so easily have been avoided.
We know that placing puppies means that homes will then be unavailable to deserving and threatened adults. |
 We do our best to help but, as a condition, insist that the owner has the mother sterilised. A second unwanted litter would be irresponsible.
We ourselves sterilise all animals before they are sent to their new homes (except for reasons of age or health). |
 So by all means bring us puppies you find abandoned, but don’t let your own animals add to the problem unless you know in advance where the puppies are going. |
