We were on our way to re-home Babou... a 3hr drive to kind people in the Aveyron. A busy main road through rugged country, a grass verge and a glimpse of a little dog standing in the long grass. We stopped and returned to the spot to find this little fellow (pictured an hour or so later). |
Head down, totally exhausted, muddy and bleeding, he had travelled far and had given up hope. He sat on our lap for the rest of the journey and fell sound asleep. Later we bathed his legs at our destination and he slept again all the way home. |
Next day he was checked over, found to be unidentified and with only superficial wounds. Also given a name - `Charlie Sprout` (Don`t ask!) Into one of our foster homes for shelter, rest and to regain his peace of mind; then using our word of mouth network, he soon had visitors to take him to a happy new home. |
We shall never know how he came to be where we found him and in the state of despair he had reached, but it was certainly his lucky day. Here he is, off to a new life of love and kindness. |
