Dony is an adorable pup from Romania. Bouncy and cuddly, he's a clever boy that will keep you continually amused but does need stimulation. He's independent but also fine with other dogs (although he can be defensive with other males who are aggressive with him and seldom loses a fight)! An energetic youngster, Dony needs experienced owners who can continue his education.

Finn is the sweetest puppy. He was found abandoned in a ditch near Eymet and brought to Phoenix in a terrible state. He now weighs 8kg and is microchipped and vaccinated and ready to find his forever home. He is both intelligent and playful, well socialised. He is housetrained, learning to walk on a lead, travel in the car and discover the big wide world. He would make the most wonderful companion.

This handsome fella is small to medium sized and a ball of energy; he is relentlessly playful but keen to please. An intelligent pup, used to other dogs and cats, although still thinks chasing cats is fun so no homes with nervous cats please.
Timmy is learning to be clean in the house and needs experienced puppy owners who can maintain a level of good discipline, keep him engaged, occupied, and persist with training. He's a strong character and can be naughty but just needs keeping in hand. Definitely needs another dog in the home unless you are committed to keeping him occupied 24/7.
He goes well on the lead and is good in the car although still a bit icky on longer journeys. He's a very affectionate adorable little character who will bring energy and humour into every situation!

Sam was adopted from the SPA as a puppy and was returned to us after the death of his owner. He was adopted again in January 2021 but has been returned to us because of his independent character (this was explained at his adoption) he doesn’t like to be told what to do or what not to do!
He is otherwise a lovely dog who deserves some luck in his life. He needs to find an owner who will assume him for who he is, for his many qualities and his few faults.
Phoenix association are offering to reimburse up to 700€ towards any vet fees once he is adopted due to the fact that he is an older dog. Despite being 10 Sam adores going for walks & is an active healthy boy. He is castrated, vaccinated, chipped wormed etc.

Millie is an 18 month old Labrador cross who was rescued from Roumania. She has been chipped, sterilised and has an EU passport. She is very playful, loving and socialised. Milly has been a bit lost since her sister Meg was adopted. She needs an experienced home with ideally an older couple or single person and potentially another dog as a role model as she can be a bit excitable in a busy household, but anxious without other dogs for company. Good with cats and other dogs; walks well on the lead, clean in the house and is fine in the car.

Teddy Bear is a large enthusiastic healthy 10 year old boy in the Perigueux SPA. He has been in the refuge for 2 years now & as he is around 10 yrs old Phoenix have decided to offer him the Pensioner plan which means we will reimburse up to 700€ for any vet fees his adopters may have to pay out.
He would prefer to be an only dog and, unfortunately, he’s not good with cats. He has missed out on training and tends to pull on the lead. This having been said he is otherwise a well-balanced and adorable Teddy Bear! He is castrated, chipped, and vaccinated. The adoption fee would be a voluntary donation.

Sambo is a 2 year old Border Collie from Romania who has made great progress here. I have cared for Border Collies for many years so I have been able to give Sambo the tools he has needed to enable him to make really good progress and he is now ready to find his new forever home.
Sambo is a very affectionate and social dog, who loves cuddles and lots of attention. Over the time he has been with me he has really enjoyed being out in the garden, going for walks in a safe space and life in general without too many distractions. He does need someone who is very present as he suffers from separation anxiety but this will calm down once he is confident in his surroundings. He needs someone who can show him boundaries as he does not always have self control. With other dogs he is fine, but often the other dogs do not understand his deficit in communication.
A bigger dog who is very social and calm would be ok for him, also he would be happy to be an only dog and a household without cats is a must.

Marley and Beau are brothers, they come from Attis Association and were part of a mass rescue from a shut in situation with multiple dogs trapped in a house where the owner had died. They have been in kennels for three years and are learning the ropes at home.

This poor boy lived happily for 10 years with his lady owner who unexpectedly died. Sadly, the family “did not know what to do with him” so left him alone in the house from which he escaped a few times. (Probably he was hungry as he came to us severely underweight.) Then Pyrame was chained so tightly without a collar that the chain cut deeply into his neck.
Neighbours reported this maltreatment and he was taken to the Le Buisson veterinarian who carried out a life saving operation to remove the embedded chain and repair the neck. The vet called Phoenix and as soon as Pyrame was well enough, he came to our house where he has turned out to have the sweetest nature. He gets on well with our dogs, loves a car trip and cheerily welcomes all visitors. He is Border Collie intelligent and has had good training, quickly learning commands in English. He still needs feeding up to his proper weight and being half starved does make him a food thief but that will stop. Because he was left alone so long, Pyrame needs reassurance by seeking attention. He really, really would make a marvellous companion who would be loyal and loving. Please come and meet him.
