QUIZ NIGHT AT CAMPSEGRET 12th APRIL 2024

The quiz was a lot of fun. About 30 people attended, there were six teams and it raised about 200 Euros. The bar was very nice, and there were an assortment of yummy snacks. Thanks to Guy for being a great host and to Mike Finzell who organised it. Team Anony Mous won.

DOG WALK AND QUIZ WITH CAKE COMPETITION   30 MARCH 2024

Huge appreciation to Madeleine, Peter, Chris and James who put on a really nice event with a great friendly feel and a terrific group of people came along to participate at the Brasseurs du Pont, Siorac. Thanks to all who did and to the bakers who contributed.

It was a heart-warming occasion.  Despite the overnight thunderstorm, there was a good turnout. The sun made a welcome appearance and it was a fun event. There were more than 30 walkers and about 20 dogs. The cake competition attracted 8 entries and were all excellent. Dorothy's bee cake was a masterpiece wasn't it?

In total the morning brought in €195. It was of course, greatly supported by Chris and James, the Brasseurs, who provided the embroidered apron and bottles of wine as prizes. Les Brasseurs is a wonderful venue!

Thank you, Tiff, for the ‘Special’ rosettes. Every dog got one to wear home and their owners loved that!

AUCTION 23RD MARCH, PUB D'EUROPE, ISSEGEAC

What a night!

Big thanks to everyone that came, bid, donated, bought and supported. We are still counting the proceeds of this memorable evening but indications are that we've raised over EUR 2,500!

Special thanks to everyone involved, including Clare Hopkins, Pete Lowman, Jane Costello , Emma Wadey Tiff Sta, Linda Foster-Smith , Rachel Stokes , Jonathan Foster-Smith @linda Gillies, Sue Rees, Phoenix Felicity, @susanjenkins , @nicholasclement @pamboysen , @rogerburge @kim burn

Finally, we cannot thank our donors enough for their generous offers. We were inundated with lots and tried to ensure that all had adequate time to be bid on, however, a few didn't meet their reserve price, entered in too late etc. so please keep an eye out for them on our marketplace https://www.facebook.com/groups/166222801926128/ for another chance to buy or watch out for our next auction!

Cat-aoke - 12th December 2023

We came, we sang, we danced and some of us embarrassed ourselves - but it didn't matter - because we had fun!

Thanks to everyone that came along to the Cat-aoke night in Issigeac last week. We raised over 300 Euros in entrance fees and donations, all of which will go towards our Feral Cat Sterilisation Programme. If you weren't able to make it, please watch out for our next Cat-aoke night, which is planned for the end of January or early February in the Eymet area

Quiz night - 6th November 2023

Our first quiz night at the Brasseurs du Pont, Siorac-en-Perigord was a roaring success. Lots of teams, some challenging questions and a set of prizes made for a fun evening out. We intend to hold these quizzes every two weeks for the time being, so we look forward to welcoming you to the next one. The last quiz on 18th November was equally successful, keep coming back!

Joint book fair and Vide-grenier with Auberge 4 Pattes -  5th November 2023

Thanks to everyone who helped to make this a great event, despite the awful weather. This was hopefully the first of many joint ventures with the Auberge 4 Pattes, benefitting both organisations by pooling our precious resources. Lots of books, clothing and other items plus a super selection of food and drink and Jims famous sausages!

Book Fair October 2023

Phoenix Book Fair 7th October 2023

Hello Book Fair Visitors and Workers. The weather was really good for October. We had been worrying about having tents for the outside stalls, but they were only needed to shelter workers from the sun. Although the start time was 10am people were clamouring to come in from 9am.  Some stall such as Collectibles were packed from mid morning to early afternoon. Jigsaws seemed to be a good seller and fiction was a big draw as well as quite a few ‘Click & Collect’ requests. If you are interested in someone searching for your books please send an e.mail to Geoff Hall on geoff.hall@orange.fr a couple of weeks before the Fair. The books will then be selected and you will be told by email how many have been found and how much you owe. There is a small extra charge for the searches but worth it if you are unable or do not want to face the crush. Better still, contact him now and register your interest in the scheme. The music and film stall was very busy as usual, even vinyl has made a comeback!  The French and Dutch stalls, the non-fiction and bric-a-brac have all done very well. Photographs have been taken of the Fair and are available on the following link

The revenue from sales amounted to just over 19,000€.  We thank everyone for the mammoth effort in working at the Fair and we thank all those who come along to buy and donate their baking. We have more and more animals to look after and we need plenty of donations to do that.

Dog Show July 2023

The dog show was a great success and many people took advantage of the improving weather to show what their dogs could do. Well done to everyone who organised and participated in what will be the first of many shows
